There are 188 new cases of Covid-19 today.

Of these, 16 are in Northland, 117 are in Auckland, 15 in Waikato, 20 in Bay of Plenty, 12 in the Lakes District, 1 in Tairāwhiti, 1 in Hawke's Bay, 1 in Mid Central, 2 in Hutt Valley and 3 in Canterbury. 

There are 14 people in hospital, with 1 of those people in intensive care or high dependency units.

The average age of people currently in hospital is 62.

96 percent of New Zealand's eligible population have had the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 94 percent have had a second dose.

There have been 5,067,840 vaccine pass downloads, including 9,840 in the last 24 hours.

There were 24,935 booster doses administered on Waitangi Day yesterday, taking the total to date to 1,586,950.

1,706 paediatric doses were given yesterday, bringing the total to 199,174.
