The key message being enforced nationwide is that we need to stay home. So what do you do if you don't have a house to call home? On the night before lockdown, we explore what's being done to support our homeless population during lockdown, and visit Waka of Caring, the Manurewa drop-in centre helping people survive.

Since filming, Waka of Caring has been granted essential services status. They will be able to continue looking after Auckland's homeless - but their food bank is nearly empty.

It's a tough time for many right now, but if you can spare a donation, the details are here:
Waka of Caring will take any clothes, non-perishable kai or monetary donations.
