There are 28 new community cases of Covid-19 today.

Of today’s new cases, 21 are in Auckland, 5 are in the Bay of Plenty, and 2 are in Taranaki.

The total number of international arrivals to New Zealand with the Omicron variant remains at 22 today.

There are 57 people in hospital, with 7 of those people in intensive care or high dependency units.

The average age of people currently in hospital is 49.

94 percent of New Zealand's eligible population have had the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 90% percent have had a second dose.

There have been 4,407,281 vaccine pass downloads, including 15,254 in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health expects the Nelson-Marlborough district health board to become the 10th district health board to hit the 90% fully vaccinated milestone later today.

As of 11.59pm on Monday, there were just 246 doses to go. 

People will receive more information about Covid-19 today.

Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins, Ministry of Health's chief science advisor Ian Town and paediatrician Dr Danny Delore will speak to media at 2pm.
