Today there are 80 new cases of Covid-19.

Of these cases, 51 are in Auckland, 21 in Waikato, 7 in Bay of Plenty, and 1 in Lakes. 

There are 62 people in hospital, with 4 of those people in intensive care or high dependency units.

The average age of people currently in hospital is 49.

94 percent of New Zealand's eligible population have had the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 89 percent have had a second dose.

There have been 4,221,183 vaccine pass downloads, including 41,331 in the last 24 hours.

An additional case in Canterbury has also been announced today, however it will be included in tomorrow's count. 

There has been several crew members of a flight arriving from Australia last night who have been identified as close contacts of an Omicron variant case. They are now isolating in an MIQ facility.
