Monday December 13, 4pm

All regions, including Auckland, which are currently in red will move to an orange traffic light setting on December 30, Thursday at 11.59pm.

Northland will remain in red.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says waiting until December 30 will give areas in red outside of Auckland time to get their vaccination rates up to the mid to high 80 percent.

On Wednesday, Auckland’s border will lift and Aucklanders who are not vaccinated will need proof of a negative test to leave the region.

This can be a rapid antigen test which will be available at pharmacies and can provide results after 15 minutes.

There will be random check points to check vaccinations certificates or negative test results.
