Today there are 95 new cases of Covid-19.

Of these, 75 are in Auckland, 11 in Waikato, 5 in Bay of Plenty, 2 in Canterbury, 1 in Lakes, and 1 in Tasman-Nelson.

Two patients with Covid have passed away overnight. The Ministry of Health said one person died in Middlemore hospital, and one died in Auckland City hospital.  

There are 56 people in hospital, with 4 of those people in intensive care or high dependency units.

The average age of people currently in hospital is 51.

94 percent of New Zealand's eligible population have had the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 89 percent have had a second dose.

There have been 4,061,416 vaccine pass downloads, including 60,514 in the last 24 hours.

Whanganui and Tairawhiti DHBs have almost hit 90 percent for first dose vaccinations.
