Hundreds and hundreds of tributes poured through to Christchurch after March 15th, 2019. Flowers, cards, gifts, paintings and origami cranes piled up in a storeroom in the Canterbury Horticultural Centre.

Former women’s coordinator for Al Noor Mosque Jumayah Jones explains how they sort through all these tokens of love and unity, and how each tribute is a taonga.

“If this person is trying to divide us, the opposite has just happened. And that is soothing for a lot of people that have lost their loved ones.”
