"It's Māori knowledge, culture, values and world view all considered together. The difference between mātauranga Māori sitting alongside science is that science would just be the knowledge."

This episode of Seasick - Saving the Hauraki Gulf takes a look at Te Ao Māori, the Māori world view of the interconnectedness and interrelationship of all living and non-living things.

We explore how a mātauranga lens could be applied to marine protection going forward and how traditional and dynamic practices like rāhui are able to move more quickly than government policy to protect certain species.
