Ten people have died and today, there are 19,566 new community cases.

Of these case there are 700 in Northland, 4,867 in Auckland, 1,820 in Waikato, 1,265 in Bay of Plenty, 624 in Lakes, 1,101 in Hawke’s Bay, 821 in MidCentral, 269 in Whanganui, 661 in Taranaki, 385 in Tairāwhiti, 260 in Wairarapa, 1,405 in Capital and Coast, 874 in Hutt Valley, 521 in Nelson Marlborough, 2,493 in Canterbury, 212 in South Canterbury, 1,220 in Southern, 60 in West Coast and 8 in unknown locations.

There are 199,645 active community cases. These cases are identified in the past 10 days and are not yet classified as recovered.

Deaths and Hospitalisations

10 people with Covid-19 have died.

Of these 10 people, one was from Northland, five from Auckland, one from the Bay of Plenty, one from Hawke’s Bay and one from the Hutt Valley.

Of the deaths, one was in their 30s, one in their 50s, three in their 70s, two in their 80s and two in their 90s. Demographic information for one person is not available at this stage.

This takes the total number of publicly reported Covid-related deaths to 151.

The 7-day rolling average of reported deaths to 8.

There are currently 930 people in hospital. Of these, 23 are in ICU or HDU. 

The average age of current hospitalisations is 58 years old. 

Testing

To date, more than 13,000 people have recorded RAT results in 'My Covid Record’ on behalf of family members. 

The vast majority of case numbers are detected through RATs.
