There are 126 new cases of Covid-19 in the community today.

Of these, 5 are in Northland, 84 are in Auckland, 20 in Waikato, 2 in Tairāwhiti, 8 in Bay of Plenty, 1 in Lakes, 2 in Hawke's Bay, 1 in Taranaki, 1 in Wellington, 1 in Nelson Tasman, and 1 in Canterbury.  

There are currently 8 people in hospital, with no cases in intensive care. 

The average age of people currently in hospital is 55.

96 percent of New Zealand's eligible population have had the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 94 percent have had a second dose. There have been 1,324,160 booster doses administered to date. 

5,826 paediatric doses were given yesterday, bringing the total to 169,316.

There have been a total of 5,000,044 vaccine pass downloads to date, and 10,282 in the last 24 hours.

The most common symptoms of the Omicron variant are a sore, scratchy throat, and a runny nose. If you have these symptoms, the Ministry of Health advises to get a test and stay home until you receive a negative test.
