Saturday 4 December

Today there are 98 new cases, with three in Northland, 64 in Auckland, 21 in Waikato, six in Bay of Plenty, one in Lakes District, two in Hawke’s Bay and one in Nelson Marlborough.

The two Hawke's Bay cases were tested outside of the region but travelled to Hawke's Bay under permitted travel. They have been isolating and the Ministry of Health says the public health risk is low.

There are 73 people in hospital, with seven of those in ICU or HDU.

Three DHBs in Auckland have reached 90 percent of their Pasifika population having the first dose of the vaccine: Auckland, Waitematā and Counties-Manukau.

Auckland DHB is only 20 doses away from hitting the 90 percent first-dose target for Māori.
