Most of the Māori theatre that I see are just Māori versions of Pākehā theatre shows. So alongside my brothers, I wanted to develop a show that we would be able to see ourselves in.

We sit down with the creators of Whakapaupakihi, a musical theatre show created to teach, inspire and entertain the uri of Te Tairāwhiti and Aotearoa whānui.

This is part of our reo Māori series, Ohinga, created by Mahi Tahi Media, with funding from Te Māngai Pāho.

Stay tuned for a new episode every week.
