Today there are 2846 new community cases of Covid-19. 

Of these cases, 36 are in Northland, 1,802 in Auckland, 285 are in Waikato, 86 in Bay of Plenty, 19 in Lakes District, 25 in Hawke’s Bay, 25 in MidCentral, 19 in Whanganui, 19 in Taranaki, 17 in Tairāwhiti, 2 in Wairarapa, 84 in Capital and Coast, 25 in Hutt Valley, 77 Nelson Marlborough, 105 in Canterbury, 4 in South Canterbury and 206 in Southern. 

Hospitalisations

There are 143 people currently in hospital.  

There is one case in ICU. 

Boosters and Covid-19 testing

27,770 booster doses were administered yesterday, bringing the total to 2,197,887.

24,351 tests were conducted yesterday. The Ministry of Health is reminding people of the importance of the right people being tested for the right reasons.

People should only get a test if they have cold or flu symptoms, have been identified as a close contact of a case, or have been asked to get tested by a health official.
